North Jutlandic Island

Vendsyssel -Thy or the North West Jutland (Danish: Nørrejyske Ø) is a less common name of the northern part of Jutland, the second largest island in Denmark is, but is not perceived as such. Although since the February 1825 flood geographically an island, he is considered part of Jutland. The area is rarely seen as a whole, rather becomes the Han areas Herred ( the center piece ) between Vendsyssel and Thy referenced. To the south the island is limited by the Limfjord, where the city of Aalborg is located. The headland Grenen two kilometers east of the northern tip of the island ( Skagen beach ) is the point bordering on the Skagerrak and Kattegat another.

The highest point of the island is the Knøsen in the parish Dronninglund the east. 35 m east of it lies the Knaghøj, which almost has the same height. These hills lie in a chain called Jyske Ås, extending over a length of 25 km and has further surveys of 100 m, as Dronninglund Storskov, Allerup Bakker, Storstensbakken, Voldene and Skelbakken.
