Northrop N-1M

The Northrop N -1M Flying Wing and was an early predecessor to the Northrop N- 9M and Northrop YB- 35th

This aircraft was the first American flying wing, which was developed from 1939 to 1940. The first flight took place on July 3, 1940 at Baker Dry Lake in California.

The machine proved to be quite unstable and underpowered, although the N -1M was the entry by Jack Northrop in the Nurflüglerbau. The N -1M is now at the Steven F. Udvar- Hazy Center of the National Air and Space Museum.
