Grumman HU-16 Albatross

The Grumman HU -16 Albatross is an amphibian with a large range of US- American manufacturer Grumman, which first flew on 24 October 1947. It was developed under the factory designation G -64 at its own expense by Grumman as a replacement for the Grumman J2F Duck, Mallard and Grumman Goose. In the period 1949-1954 459 aircraft were built, which were used in more than 15 countries. Main users were the United States Air Force, U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard, who used the HU- 16 to the rescue (Search and Rescue). A total of 466 HU -16 were built, some of which are still used today civil.
