Nová Lhota (Hodonín District)

Nová Lhota ( German New Lhotta ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 19 km east of Veseli nad Moravou and belongs to Okres Hodonín.

Geography

Nová Lhota is located in the White Carpathians Protected Landscape Area in the White Carpathians. The street village extends along the upper reaches of the creek Lhotský creek. Three kilometers south-east runs the border with Slovakia. To the north rise the Zbytky (404 m), in the northeast of Psí vršek ( 477 m ) east of the Mechnáč ( 679 m), U Betina Javora ( 827 m), Velka Javořina (970 m), Durda ( 842 m) and the Kašpariskův vrch ( 777 m), in the southeastern Šibenický vrch (707 m) and Čupec ( 818 m) south of the Kubikův vrch ( 683 m) and the Grúň ( 589 m) in the southwest of Klokočník ( 543 m) and Hradisko ( 636 m ) and northwest of the Haj (573 m).

Neighboring towns are Nové Pole, Suchovské Mlýny Zámečnické Mlýny Hryzlácké Mlýny Čerešnické Mlýny Podširocké Mlýny and Fojtické Mlýny in the north, Uherskohradišťské Vápenky in the northeast, Topolecká and Jazviny the southeast, Poriadie, Stara Myjava and Brestovec in the south, Kománkův Mlýn, Petruchovy Mlýny and Javorník in the west and Pod Kozimelkou and Velka in the northwest.

History

Lhotka originated as a settlement of woodcutters of the Moravian rule Strážnice in the border forests of Hungary. This was called from an upper part, the lazy or Stara Lhotka and the northern settlement thereof located Nová Lhota. In 1598, Johann Dietrich graduated from Zierotin both parties to a village Nová Lhotka together and let it expand. 1605 Nová Lhotka was plundered and destroyed by the troops of the rebel Transylvanian prince Stephen Bocskai. After Johann Dietrich Younger had died of Zierotin 1620, the rule Strážnice was sold in 1629 for 200,000 Rhenish florins Franz von Magni, who was raised in the same year the Earl of Strassnitz. 1702 sold the over-indebted Anton Graf von Magni Allodherrschaft Strážnice the highest bidder for 339,000 Rhenish florins to Dominik Andreas I von Kaunitz. Upon incidence of kuruc Nová Lhotka was burned down in 1704. Dominik Andreas son Maximilian Ulrich von Kaunitz Strážnice sold in 1716 to the purchase price to the curator of the feeble-minded Joseph Anton of Magni. At the beginning of the 18th century, a school was established in the village. Over time, the town name was changed in Nová Lhota. Between 1800 and 1810 about 200 people died in Nová Lhota in cholera epidemics. Until the mid-19th century Nová Lhota always remained the Earl of Magni's submissive to Strážnice.

After the replacement of patrimonial Nová Lhota / New Lhotta formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Göding and the jurisdiction Strážnice. Between 1949 and 1960 Nová Lhota belonged to Okres Veseli nad Moravou and came back to his resolution to Okres Hodonín. On November 26, 1971 Vápenky was umgemeindet of strání to Nová Lhota. The district Nová Lhota had 899 inhabitants in 1991; the Census of 2001, there were only 774 people in 322 houses.

The Nová Lhota consists of the districts Nová Lhota ( New Lhotta ) and Vápenky ( Wapenka ) and the settlements Nove Pole, Uherskohradišťské Vápenky, Hryzlácké Mlýny Čerešnické Mlýny Podširocké Mlýny and Fojtické Mlýny.

Attractions

  • Baroque Church of St.. Matthew, built in 1729 at the behest of Johann Franz of Magni. From 1752 consisted of the church choir, which used a 1751 by the German Rectors' Pavel Raska authored hymnal. The painted with the initials of its author Raškův kancionál ( Raschka hymnal ) is now in the Museum of Uherský Brod.
