Nurmes

Nurmes [ nurmɛs ] is a city in eastern Finland with 8323 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012). It is located in the countryside of North Karelia in the north end of the lake Pielinen. Nurmes bordered to the east by Lieksa, to the south Juuka, on the west by Rautavaara, on the northwest by Valtimo and to the north by Kuhmo.
