Oberhausen-Holten station

The train station Oberhausen- Holten was around eighty years a railway station and is now a breakpoint. It lies on the railway line Oberhausen- Arnhem, which is part of the so-called Betuweroute, a major freight line between the Ruhr and the Port of Rotterdam.

The breakpoint is located about two kilometers from the center of the Oberhausen Holten district on the outskirts of the district Schmachtendorf.

History

The stop Holten ( Kr Ruhrort ) was opened by the Cologne -Minden Railway Company (CME ) in 1886 at the already established on September 1, 1853 Oberhausen- Arnhem railway line; from this came the now demolished station building. The mayor Holten was divided at this point just to the mayor and the mayor's Sterkrade Beeck ( the smaller, western part ) and belonged until 1887 to the district of Mülheim an der Ruhr.

Around the turn of the century, the station was extended to a station of class III OR. Because after the draining of the Holtener breakdown by channeling the Emscher passed plans to build one of the first German airports there.

Even before the First World War it was renamed in Holten railway station. In 1917 Holten was amalgamated into the new city Sterkrade, which in turn in 1929 in the city of Oberhausen; yet the only station on 14 May 1950 Oberhausen- Holten name station received.

On 28 January 1975, the station was again, a breakpoint with a locally integrated alternative connection point converted to a transit stop. After the closure of the alternate connection point today remains only the breakpoint Oberhausen- Holten.

Operation

The breakpoint consists of two side platforms, each 38 cm platform height that can be reached by stairs and ramps. Platform 1 has a length of 192 m, on the other hand the platform 2 only 168 m.

The bus stop Oberhausen- Holten applicant is located 100 meters south of the holding point at the intersection of highway road with the road or Emmericher Wesel road.
