Oceania Footballer of the Year

The choice of Oceania Footballer of the Year has been held since 1988. The best footballer of the continent is elected by sports journalists. Eligible are all players who are nationals of the oceanic state. This also explains the two victories of Christian Karembeu, who played for the French national football team, but was born in New Caledonia.

The awards were first set in 2004, 22 December 2008 announced the OFC but the continuation of the price. The awards for the years 2005, 2006 and 2007 were thus given subsequently. After Australia has joined the Asian Football Federation on 1 January 2006, since then the award can not be awarded to players with Australian nationality.

Record winner are Wynton Rufer and Harry Kewell with three awards. So far, almost won the award only players who played their award in Europe in the respective year. The only exceptions were Frank Farina, the first player received the award in 1988, and the winners of 2007 and 2008, Shane Smeltz.

Oceania Player of the Century

Oceania Player of the Century chosen - To celebrate the turn of the century - unprecedented. The award was presented by the IFFHS. Winner of the election was the New Zealander Wynton Rufer before Frank Farina and Christian Karembeu:

Was also awarded by the IFFHS award Oceania's goalkeeper of the century. The election was won by Australian Mark Bosnich, who achieved so far the only goalkeeper also the award for Player of the year:
