Action

The employed in the New York Public Library librarian Joe Gower is dissatisfied with his life. His boss harassed him, his girlfriend leaves him. The friend of Gower policeman Abe Washington asks him to stand in for him during a rehearsal for a dance show organized by the police for charitable purposes.

Gower agrees and learns during the probationary policewoman Rachel Wareham know. He pretends to be a cop and helps Wareham in pursuit of a criminal, in which both are involved random. Gower takes part in further samples to learn about Wareham closer. He is named the solo dancer, by which the show should be constructed. Meanwhile, his friend warns him of the consequences of falsely impersonate a police officer.

Gower gets into the police uniform in a bank robbery. The police surrounded the building. Gower draws the attention of the predator off with some dance steps and overwhelmed him. In the last scene we see him in the show.

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun - Times 11 April 1986, he felt the characters particularly likeable. The plot was " sophisticated " than in most comedies and offer "little insight into human nature ." Although it contained predictable elements that were borrowed from other films - this, however, would seem "surprisingly original ." The chemistry between the lead actors is strong; Meg Tilly WOULD " 10 times or 20 times more interesting " than in Agnes - Angel in the fire, for which film she received an Academy Award nomination.
