History

First traces of settlement in the Bronze Age (1800-800 BC) were occupied by excavations. In 500 AD, which fell before the Regensburg area of Bavaria from populated area to the Franks. Since 741, the county belonged to the diocese of Eichstätt. The first mention by the bishop of Eichstätt Gundekar II took place 1057-1060. The territory belonged for centuries to the territory of the city of Nuremberg, which was part of the Frankish kingdom circle from 1500. The first mention of other places of the current municipal area can be found mid-13th century ( Kucha 1241 Egensbach 1241 width Brunn 1248 ). In 1268 the right of patronage came to the Dominican convent angel valley, but which ended with the introduction of the Reformation on June 25, 1528 again.

The rural community Offenhausen was formed as a result of the Second Bavarian town of 1818. On 1 January 1972 parts of the formerly independent municipality Breitenbrunn were incorporated ( with the place Breitenbrunn ). 1978 originated from the previously independent municipalities Offenhausen, Kucha and Püscheldorf the church today Offenhausen.

The municipality maintains Offenhausen since 7 September 2001, a partnership with Offenhausen in Upper Austria.

Culture and sights

The most important building is the fortified church, which is dedicated to St. Nicholas. In its current form, the oldest parts dating from the 14th century come.

  • Chapel ruins of St. Ottmar and St. Ottilia on the wedge mountain from the 15th century
  • On the northeast slope of the mountain, the book featured stone trough is the book mountain.
