Geography
Geographical Location
Leinburg is located about 20 kilometers east of Nuremberg, right on Moritzberg ( Franconian ), an offshoot of the Franconian Jura. The Moritz mountain with 603 meters is the highest peak in the wider area.

History
Incorporations
On 1 July 1971, until then independent municipality Unterhaidelbach was incorporated with their districts Weiherberg and Pühlhof. The following six up to the local government reform independent municipalities in Bavaria went in 1978 with their respective districts in the new unit community on:
- Leinburg with the districts Heiligenmühle, Fox Mill, Chandler Pond and Forest House
- Diepersdorf is the largest district of the municipality and was first mentioned in 1079, when King Henry IV gave the porter Ebbo Dieprehdesdorf. A district of the former municipality Diepersdorf was the hamlet Scheerau.
- Entenberg
- Gersdorf whose first mention is demonstrated in a document of the viscount of Nuremberg in 1265. In the 12th century the place was under the rule of the Hohenstaufen, then under the Duke of Bavaria and the Margrave of Brandenburg, the Burggraf of Nuremberg was the same. For the imperial city of Nuremberg Gersdorf belonged in the 15th century. For the name of the place, there are several interpretations, so he could from the highest peak of the mountain nuns, the vulture stone, but also be derived from the previous cultivation of barley. For the former municipality Gersdorf Reuth included (a small village with about 20 inhabitants on the southern slope of the mountain at 539 meters height Reuther, first documentary mention in the 13th century), and Pötzling Gersberg.

The local council of Leinburg consists of 20 city councils, and the Lord Mayor.

Coat of arms
Description: Shared; Up In Blue, a winning half golden mermaid eagles, silver below in a green hop swag with seven half- circularly arranged umbels and a leaf.
The coat of arms has been operational since 1986. The Nuremberg Mermaid Adler recalls that the municipality was formerly part of the imperial city of Nuremberg. The seven hops stand for the seven districts and the earlier rain hops.
Twinning
In the gym Diepersdorfer the partnership agreement with Wartberg an der Krems in Austria was signed in the presence of the chief administrative officer Klaus Hartmann, Mayor Konrad Colonel and Mayor Franz Dopf on 25 October 1986.

Bathrooms
In Leinburger district Weissenbrunn there is a simple natural pool whose water supply for the east of the village is springing Bach Berglesgraben. The bathroom was extensively renovated in 2011 and decorated close to nature.
Nature
South of Leinburg the nature reserve lichen pine forests located south Leinburg.
Regular events
- To Leinburger fair traditionally dancing young couples from the Kirwabaum ( Kirwaverein Leinburg ). In this case, enter " Plotzknecht " and " Betz " on. The same also takes place in the villages Weissenbrunn, Duck Mountain, Gersdorf and Diepersdorf.
- The volunteer fire department Leinburg held each year on May 1, the Maibierfest front of the fire station. Traditionally, there are hearty Franconian specialties.
- In the district Unterhaidelbach the volunteer fire department Unterhaidelbach in the third week of July each year organizes a Roßeichenfest under the linden tree.
- In Leinburg held various solstice celebrations in the village and in the various districts to the solstice.
Public institutions
Train
Already in 1720 the farmhouse was the shoemaker charm man, who was also the school holder, holds a lesson. The old school house still standing at the Haimendorfer road was built in 1868. There, a doctor and a massage practice and is now housed. In the immediate vicinity of a new school house was built in 1911, which was renewed in 1966. 1977 school gymnasium was built, in 1990 another school house grown and inaugurated the triple sports hall in 1997. Another school building construction, renovation of old buildings, and the establishment of the new schoolyard made 2001/2002.
Volunteer fire
The volunteer fire department is Leinburg as a base defense one of the largest fire departments in the community and has existed since 1872. It is by his own admission particularly active in youth work.
