Geography

Geographical Location

Winkelhaid located on the eastern edge of the Lorenz Imperial forest, in the transition region from the Middle Franconian basin to foreland of the Middle Franconian.

Community structure

The municipality is divided into four districts:

  • Penzenhofen (now grown together with the main town )
  • Indicative Hausen ( also grown together with the main town )
  • Ungelstetten ( a little off, just north of Highway 6)
  • Winkelhaid

Neighboring municipalities are ( starting in the north clockwise): Altdorf near Nuremberg, Black Bruck and wet.

History

Incorporations

On 1 January 1972 parts of the territory of the dissolved municipality Penzenhofen were incorporated.

Nature

North of Winkelhaid the nature reserve lichen pine forests located south Leinburg. To the northeast lies the Geotop Röthenbachklamm.

Traffic

Winkelhaid is connected with a stop on the northern outskirts of the Nuremberg S-Bahn. The single-track breakpoint is approached in both directions in 40 -minute intervals, which is in the morning, compressed noon and late afternoon / early evening on 20 minutes. The driving time to the 19.6 rail kilometers from Nuremberg Central Station is 23 minutes.

Winkelhaid is approached early on Saturday, Sunday and public holiday morning by running every hour night bus from Nuremberg ( with a change in wetlands ).

Education

The primary school Winkelhaid / Penzenhofen with grades one through four has two locations in Winkelhaid and Penzenhofen.

The secondary grades five through nine of the main school are offered in damp and in Altdorf near Nuremberg. also the next junior high school located in humid, the next school in Altdorf near Nuremberg.

The administration of the community college Schwarzachtal is housed in the town hall Winkelhaid.
