Ole Kristian Furuseth

Ole Kristian Furuseth ( born January 7, 1967 in Jessheim ) is a retired Norwegian alpine skier. The nine-time Norwegian champion won two medals at Olympics and World Championships, won nine World Cup races and twice won the World Cup giant slalom discipline.

Career

At large A matches, he won two medals: bronze in slalom at the World Ski Championships 1991 in Saalbach- Hinterglemm and silver in the slalom at the 1998 Olympics in Nagano. In addition, he was no less than four times become Fourth: In the World Ski Championships 1991 ( Giant Slalom and Super -G), at the 1992 Olympic Games in Albertville (slalom ) and at the World Ski Championships 1997 in Sestriere (slalom ).

In the Ski World Cup, he was also very successful and won nine races ( six slaloms and three giant slaloms ). In the seasons 1988/1989 ( ex aequo with Pirmin Zurbriggen ) and 1989/ 1990 ( ex aequo with Günther Mader ), he won the giant slalom World Cup itself. In the overall World Cup and once he reached the slalom World Cup three times second place.

In 1989 he won the election to Norway's Athlete of the Year as well as the Morgenbladet gold medal.

In March 2002, Furuseth announced his retirement from professional racing. Today he operates two hotels that Furuseth Alpin Lodge and Studio H in Kvitfjell in Lillehammer.
