Olešnice (Hradec Králové District)

Olešnice ( German Woleschnitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located two kilometers southwest of Chlumec nad Cidlinou and belongs to Okres Hradec Králové.

Geography

Olešnice is located on the right side of the Cidlina at the inflow Olešnický creek on the East Bohemian panel. To the west of the village lies the pond Olešnický fishpond, which serves as a lake. In the south of the highway D 11/Europastraße 67, at the exit is 62 Chlumec nad Cidlinou -západ at Levín runs.

Neighboring towns are Krašov, Chlumec nad Cidlinou and Kladruby in the northeast, Lučice in the east, and Chárovna Štít the southeast, Pametnik in the south, Loukonosy and Levin in the southwest and Převýšov in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of Olessnicz dates from 1393rd The existence of the village Lewyn is documented since 1316.

At the beginning of the 16th century acquired Wilhelm II of Pernštejna both villages and beat them to his rule Chlumetz. Residents of the village lived by agriculture; on the ridge between the city and Olešnice wine was grown. Furthermore, there was a water mill; Levin stood in a windmill since 1571.

After the abolition of patrimonial were Volešnice and Levin in 1850 to the municipality Lučice hamlets in the district Nový Bydžov. 1886 was the community Volešnice to 1904 was come to the district Levín. Since 1920, the municipality bears the name Olešnice. In 1930, Levin broke away and formed his own church.

On January 1, 1961, Olešnice to Okres Hradec Králové, was simultaneously the incorporation of Levin. 1989 Olešnice was incorporated into Chlumec nad Cidlinou, after the Velvet Revolution came the following year the town Olešnice again. Since 2002 Olešnice leads a coat of arms and banners.
