ÅŒmura, Nagasaki

Omura (Japanese大村 市, -shi, literally: large village ) is a city in Nagasaki Prefecture in Japan.

Every day at 18 clock plays in the town's famous "castle" music, similar to church bells.

Geography

The city is located in the Omura - level (大村 平野, Omura heiya ) at the Omura Bay.

History

Omura was, as Nagasaki, one of the few places where the Jesuits and the Portuguese were able to move freely in Japan.

The modern city was founded on February 11, 1942. Due to the atomic bombing of Nagasaki, Omura was destroyed to 33.1 %.
