Otilia Bădescu

Otilia Bădescu ( born October 31, 1970 in Bucharest ) is a former Romanian table tennis player. She was more time European Champion.

Youth

In 1985 Bădescu Romanian champion was the first time in an individual. The title she defended in 1986, 1987 and 1989 Five times she won this championship in a double. 1984, 1985, 1987 (with Maria Alboiu ), 1988 ( with Kinga Lohr ) and 1989 ( with Maria Bogoslov ).

In 1983 she became European Champion of the students. Other titles at European Youth Championships she came in 1984 in singles and doubles (with Kinga Lohr ), 1985 in singles and doubles (with Emilia Ciosu ) as well as with the Romanian team, in 1987 in doubles (with Kinga Lohr ) and 1988 single and in mixed ( with Calin Creangă ).

Ladies

From 1985 to 2005, only 1.60 m wide Bădescu participated in 12 World Championships. They reached the semi-finals in 1993 in single.

From 1986 to 2005, she was nominated for nine European championships. After individual silver in 1988 she succeeded in winning the title in 2003. In mixed they had in 1992 ( with Calin Creangă ) and 1998 ( with Ilija Lupulesku ) won the title. 1992 and 2005 she won with the Romanian team gold. At the European Championships in 1990 Bădescu received the fair play trophy because they had added some edges balls to their detriment.

In the European ranking tournament Europe Top 12 Bădescu took place in 1995 1 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2004 she participated in the Summer Olympics.

Bădescu grew up in Bucharest. She has a younger brother ( b. 1983 ).
