Ottok (Polish: Otoki ) is a town in Upper Silesia. Ottok located in the municipality Zülz ( Biała) in Prudnicki powiat (district Neustadt OS) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship.

Geographical Location

Ottok is located three kilometers north- west of the parish seat Zülz, 12 kilometers northeast of the county town of Prudnik ( Neustadt OS) and 35 kilometers south of the Opole voivodship ( Opole ).

History

The town was founded in the second half of the 14th century and was first mentioned in 1383 as " Ottak " and " Eichak ". In 1865 the town had 12 farmers, 19 gardeners and 15 smallholdings.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 Ottok was outside the voting area. On 2 July 1936, the town was renamed in Auenwalde. By 1945, the place was in the district of Neustadt OS

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Otoki and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950, the city came to Opole Voivodeship and since 1999 he is part of the powiat Prudnicki. On 6 March 2006 German was in the community Zülz, the Ottok belongs introduced as a second official language. On 24 November 2008, the City also received the official German place names Ottok.
