Wasiłowice

Waschelwitz (Polish: Wasiłowice ) is a town in Upper Silesia. Waschelwitz located in the municipality Zülz ( Biała) in Prudnicki powiat (district Neustadt OS) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship.

Geographical Location

Waschelwitz is located three kilometers north of the parish seat Zülz, ten kilometers north east of the county town Prudnik ( Neustadt OS) and 37 kilometers southwest of the Opole voivodship ( Opole ).

Neighboring towns of Waschelwitz in the West Schmitsch ( Śmicz ) and Mühlsdorf ( Milowice ), in the north Ottok ( Otoki ), in the northeast Ellguth ( Ligota Bialska ), in the south of the city Zülz and southwestern United Pramsen ( Prężyna ).

History

The village was founded in the early 16th century and was first mentioned in 1531. 1531 mention as " Waschlowitze " and 1534 as " Warsowitze ". 1865, the place had nine farmers, 13 gardeners and 17 smallholdings.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 Waschelwitz was outside the voting area. By 1945, the place was in the district of Neustadt OS

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Wasiłowice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950, the city came to Opole Voivodeship and since 1999 he is part of the powiat Prudnicki. On 6 March 2006 the German Waschelwitz was in the community Zülz, plays, introduced as a second official language. On 24 November 2008, the City also received the official German place names Waschelwitz.
