Ovanåker Municipality
Ovanåker is a municipality (in Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province of Gävleborg and the historical province of Hälsingland. The main town of the municipality is Edsbyn. Passing through the municipality, the railway Orsa - Bollnäs.
Geography
The municipality is located in the foothills of the Scandinavian Mountains. It is a slightly wavy, forest covered area, which rises in the north. The river and its tributary Voxnan Gryckån flow in meanders through the community. In the non-upgraded parts of the river there are several rapids.
Economy
In the community Ovanåker the wood processing industry dominates. Major industrial towns are Edsbyn, Alfta and Viksjöfors.
