Pascal Bodmer

Pascal Bodmer ( born January 4, 1991 Balingen ) is a German ski jumper from Hossingen, part of the city Meßstetten, in Zollernalbkreis in Baden- Württemberg.

Career

On 4 January 1991 Pascal Bodmer was born as a child of the automotive mechanic Werner Bodmer and his wife Alice in Balingen. At the age of five, he accompanied his brother Patrick to the Alpine and shortly after the ski jumping at the ski club Meßstetten. Meßstetten bears the title " highest city in Baden -Württemberg ". The Heuberg has three natural jumps; including two small hills with a design point of 20 and 40, and a mean jump with K 60 with five years Bodmer began with the ski jumping. In 2002, the then eleven year old second-best Springer of the German Ski Association ( DSV) and Best was the ARGE Baden- Württemberg ( Swabian Youth Champion 2002). In the coming years the young jumpers always rose in student competitions and was one of the best young people in the DSV. From the summer of 2005 he was a member of the C- squad of the German Ski Association. Since September 2006, the beginning of the school year 2006/2007, he attended the Skiinternat Furtwangen ( SKIF ) in Furtwangen in the Black Forest. There he attended the 10th high-school class and trained in the C- squad along with his brother Patrick (then D- Squad ) and other ski jumping talents.

In 2005, German students master Pascal Bodmer with the team OPA. The OPA - 2006 Games he finished fifth and in July 2006 the 22th place in the Continental Cup. In Germany Cup he won the victory, he finished third in the Alpine Cup. At the German Championships 2006, he finished sixth. At the Junior World Championships in 2007 in Tarvisio, Italy, he reached the 18th place in the individual competition and with the team to 4th place. In February 2007, Bodmer finished the World Cup in Klingenthal the 29th place and received his first two World Cup points. From the 2007/2008 season, he was a member of the B-team. At the Junior World Championships 2008 in Zakopane, Poland, he reached in the individual ranking the 11th place and won with the team the gold medal. 19 July 2008 Bodmer was German champion in ski jumping ( Men and juniors) in the Vogtland Arena in Klingenthal. In the Four Hills Tournament 2008/ 09 he could only convince in qualifying for Neujahresspringen in Garmisch -Partenkirchen. A year later, he won with the team " Baden -Württemberg" again took first place in the German Championship.

At the Junior World Championships 2009 in Štrbské Pleso, Slovakia, he reached in the individual competition of the 4th place and won the team silver medal. In summer 2009, Bodmer closed the Skiinternat Furtwangen from the vocational college 2 ( economy). He is now a sports soldier in the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr in Todtnau -Fahl, lives in webs in the upper Dreisamtal with Kevin Horlacher and trained in the Black Forest, first with the former Austrian jumpers Stefan Horngacher, then together with Martin Schmitt at the Olympic base Hinterzarten at Coach Rolf Schilli. His current rank is Corporal.

To kick off the Olympic season 2009/10 managed Bodmer 28 November 2009 his best World Cup result. First, he helped the team to second place and the first individual competition of the season he reached surprising 2nd place. In the Four Hills Tournament 2009/10 he came to a seventh place in the victory of the Austrian Andreas Kofler. At the Junior World Championships 2010 in Hinterzarten, Germany, he reached the 20th place in the individual competition and won with the team the silver medal. On 7 February 2010, he won with the German team to the outside of him and Michael Neumayer, Martin Schmitt and Michael watch men belonged to the team competition at the mill ski jump in Willingen in the FIS Team Tour 2010. At the Olympic Winter Games 2010 in Vancouver Bodmer difference in jumping on the normal hill on points with Stefan Hula than 31 after the first passage out.

In the Four Hills Tournament 2010/11 he scored in 25th place in the overall ranking. On December 29, 2011, did not succeed to qualify on the Schattenbergschanze in Oberstdorf for the 60th Four Hills Tournament 2011/12.

His personal best is 189.5 m, jumped on 4 February 2011 at the Heini Klopfer ski jump in Oberstdorf.
