Pavel Ploc

Pavel Ploc ( born June 15, 1964 in Jilemnice ) is a former Czech ski jumper and politicians.

Career

His start in the World Cup he had on March 12, 1982 in ski flying in the Austrian Tauplitz; he reached the twelfth straight away. On January 1, 1983, he was at home in Harrachov at the Ski Flying World Championship runner-up, a week later, he won the same place on the large hill his first World Cup competition. Overall, he won in his career ten World Cup Jumping, last in 1990 in the Swedish Sollefteå. In the World Cup Appreciation were his best finishes of second place in the 1987/88 season and the third place strikers in 1983 / 84th

At the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, he won the bronze medal in the large hill, also he won bronze in the same year with the team at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Engelberg. In 1985, he won third place at the Ski Flying World Championships in Planica. At the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary, Canada in 1988, he won the normal hill behind the silver medal Matti Nykänen. His last medal he won at the 1989 Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti. With the Czechoslovak team he won bronze in the team competition.

His last World Cup competition, he played on 15 December 1991 in Sapporo. He had been unable to successfully adapt to the emerging V- style. Today Pavel Ploc operates a Skip Sion in Harrachov and has been involved in politics. In recent Czech parliamentary elections, he was elected deputy for the party CSSD.
