Peter Wisgerhof

Peter Wisgerhof ( born November 19, 1979 in Wageningen ) is a Dutch football player. Since the winter break 2008/09, the defender is the Dutch first division club FC Twente in Enschede under contract.

Career

Association

Wisgerhof played for VV ONA '53 before he was spotted by the young scouts Vitesse Arnhem. For the season 1999/2000 the defender was included in the first team of the club. Already in his first year in the Eredivisie he came on 15 league bets. Nevertheless, the Vitesse Board decided to borrow him for the following season to the league rival NEC Nijmegen. There Wisgerhof prevailed, and became a top performer. After one year lending obliged him NEC. With the exception of the 2004/05 season he played in eight years in Nijmegen always 30 or more encounters. With the Nijmegen defender played mostly in the midfield in the league. Best position was in 2003 when the fifth place was earned. After completion of the league in 2005, the NEC fans voted him the best player of the season. During the winter break of the 2008 /09 recruited him from FC Twente Enschede. There he was to replace the Ajax Amsterdam migrated Rob Wielaert. At the end of the season Wisgerhof was with the team Dutch runners-up and failed in the Cup final on penalties at SC Heerenveen. The following year, he celebrated with Twente their first league title for the Tukkers. In the 2010/11 season he was team captain of FC Twente as successor Blaise Nkufos. His contract was 2012/13 extended in December 2010 to the end of the season with an option for another season.

National

Wisgerhof was junior national team of the Netherlands. For the U -21 defensive player completed 13 games and scored one goal. After his move to Twente Enschede 2009, he was first nominated for the B- team of the Netherlands and was used.

In the cadre of senior national team coach Bert van Marwijk Bond appointed him the first time on October 1, 2010 for the European Championship qualifiers on October 8, 2010 in Moldova and on 12 October 2010 against Sweden. His first try at Oranje he celebrated two days before his 31st birthday on 17 November 2010 in a friendly against Turkey in Amsterdam when he came on in the second half for the injured Joris Mathijsen.
