Pierre Baugniet

Pierre Baugniet ( born July 23, 1925 in Antwerp, † 1981) was a Belgian figure skater, who started pair skating.

His skating partner was Micheline Lannoy. With it, he dominated the first two years of competition after the Second World War. They won all the major competitions in which they participated. In 1947, she ran up in Davos and the European title in Stockholm in 1947 and 1948 in Davos they were world champions. At the Olympic Winter Games in 1948 in St. Moritz won Baugniet Lannoy and the gold medal. It is still the only Olympic gold medal in the Winter Games for Belgium. Along with Robert Van Zeebroeck in 1928 also won a bronze medal in St. Moritz, Baugniet and Lannoy are the only Belgian skaters that have won an Olympic medal.
