Pocona Municipality

The municipality Pocona is a district in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location in near space

The municipality Pocona is one of six Municipalities of the province of Carrasco. It is bordered to the west by the province of Arani, on the southwest by the province Mizque, to the south by the province Campero, on the east by the municipality of Totora, and to the north by the province Tiraque.

The central location of the municipality is Pocona with 244 inhabitants in the northwestern part of the municipality. (2001)

Geography

The municipality Pocona located in one of the high valleys of the mountain range of the Cordillera Oriental, which merges into the Bolivian lowlands to the east. The climate of the region is characterized by a typical diurnal climate where the temperature differences between day and night be more pronounced than between seasons.
