Pontiac Torrent

The Pontiac Torrent is a from 2005 to 2009 offered sport utility vehicle of the former U.S. carmaker Pontiac. Was first introduced the vehicle in 2005 at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Torrent is powered by a 3.4 -liter Vortec 3400 V6 engine, which is also used in the Chevrolet Equinox. The engine has four valves per cylinder, making 138 kW ( 188 hp) and is made entirely of aluminum. In the fuel consumption it should be competitive with European and Asian engines. Optionally the torrent was available with all-wheel drive, but standard was front wheel drive.

Pontiac offered the torrent in 2006 at a cost of 22,990 U.S. $. The furnishings were, among others, an MP3-compatible radio, red dials and brushed aluminum in the cockpit. The customer could choose between a 5 -speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission.
