Port Vale F.C.

Port Vale ( officially: Port Vale Football Club ) was founded in 1876 and plays in Burslem, Stoke -on-Trent. At the end of the season 2007/ 08, the " Valiants ", as they are called up from the Football League One, the third English league, from and are active in the fourth division Football League Two since the 2008/ 09 season. The town rival is Stoke City, who currently play the best in the Premier League. In the 1990s, succeeded Port Vale even to overtake Stoke City, when the club was able to keep several years in the First Division, as the second division was then called.

The stadium of Port Vale, the Vale Park, now accommodate a total of 22,356 spectators. The record attendance dates of 20 February 1960, in the FA Cup against Aston Villa were 49 768 spectators. For 240,000 pounds sterling of pop star Robbie Williams bought the majority of shares of the association in 2006, linked to the hope for a similar development at Chelsea under Roman Abramovich.

On March 6, 2012 Port Vale went into bankruptcy.
