Pottmes is a market in the Swabian district Aichach -Friedberg and seat of the administrative community founded in 1994 Pottmes.

Geography

Pottmes is geographically located on the border between the Aindlinger terrace staircase ( Danube -Iller -Lech - plate ) to the west and the Danube river Isar Hill Country and the old Bavarian Donaumoos (sub Bavarian hills ) to the east. These are part of the Alpine Foothills, one of the Nature Area main units in Germany. It forms the northernmost municipality in since the administrative reform, which took effect on 1 July 1972 Swabian district Aichach- Friedberg, however, is historically a Altbayern.

History

Henry of Gumppenberg received on October 16, 1324 by Emperor Ludwig of Bavaria awarded market rights for Pottmes. Pottmes belonged to the high free home Gumppenberg since 1281. The village was part of the Electorate of Bavaria, but formed a closed Hofmark who had a blood trial. This was in 1310 awarded by the Emperor Louis of Bavaria and existed until the big reorganization of the court system in the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1808. Still bears witness to the north of Pottmes location " Gallows " from this high court. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

Incorporations

On 1 July 1970 the until then independent municipality Immendorf was incorporated into Pottmes. On January 1, 1972, added Quick Kreuth man. This was followed Handzell on 1 April 1972 Grimolzhausen, Kühnhausen and chimney on 1 July 1972. Gundelsdorf came on 1 January 1976 to market Pottmes. Eben Ried followed on 1 January 1977. The series of incorporations was completed with the inclusion of Echsheim, Osterzhausen, rich stone and Wiesbach on 1 January 1978.

The previous communities were ( until the date of incorporation, at the latest by 30 June 1972) to the following Altlandkreisen:

  • Aichach (Upper Bavaria): Level Ried, Gundelsdorf, Handzell, Immendorf Osterzhausen, Pottmes and Quick Man Kreuth
  • District of Neuburg an der Donau ( Swabia): Echsheim, Kühnhausen, rich stone, chimneys and Wiesbach
  • County Schrobenhausen (Upper Bavaria): Grimolzhausen

Spin-offs

On 1 January 1977 was a part of the territory with about 200 inhabitants of the community Königsmoos, district of Neuburg -Schrobenhausen ceded.

Population Development

In the nucleus Pottmes lived on January 1, 2011 2828 people ( 2853 population on July 1, 2010).

Policy

Mayor

First mayor since May 1, 2008 Franz Schindele; he sat down in the runoff against the incumbent mayor Johann Schmuttermeier by. On March 16, 2014 he was re-elected with 97.21 %; he was the candidate community all three parties.

Parish council

The council sets (not counting since time out of competition) from the first mayor and 20 councilors together.

Community partnership

Pottmes maintains since 1980 a community and school partnership with La Haye- Pesnel in France.

Economy, agriculture and forestry

There were 1998 in the field of agriculture and forestry 107, 541 in industry and in trade and transport 218 persons work at the workplace. In other areas, were employed to social security at the workplace 181 people. Social insurance contributions at residence, there were a total of 2026. In the manufacturing sector (as well as mining and quarrying and earth ), there was one operation, in construction 12 companies.
