Reigate and Banstead

Reigate and Banstead (often also written Reigate & Banstead ) is an administrative district with the status of a borough in the county of Surrey in England. To the north it borders Greater London. Next to the county seat Reigate It includes the cities of Banstead, Horley and Redhill.

History

  • 967: First mention of Banstead in an Anglo-Saxon charter from the time of King Edgar.

The partnership between Eschweiler in North Rhine- Westphalia and the English Borough of Reigate and Banstead will be launched with the signing of the twinning agreement by the Mayor and City Directors on May 4, 1985;. On September 26, 1989, the " Station Square " will be officially renamed "& Banstead Reigate Square " before the Eschweiler Hauptbahnhof.
