Renato Pasini

Renato Pasini ( born July 31, 1977 in Gazzaniga ) is an Italian cross country skier.

Renato Pasini lives in Gromo and starts for the CS Forestale. His international debut was at the Junior World Championships in 1996 in Asiago. Best result was a 14th place over 30 kilometers. In the following years he started in the Continental Cup. His first World Cup race, a 10 -kilometer race he competed in March 2000 in Bormio, finishing in 77th place. In the following years, Pasini developed into a specialist in the sprint race and finished multiple places near the top ten. However, it took until February 2003 to the first time he pushed forward along with Freddy Schwienbacher the team sprint World Cup Asiago in third place in the world-class. Permanently he could but even then not yet set in the world rankings and forth between World and Continental Cup and FIS races. At the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin Pasini started the sprint, finishing in 18th place. Particularly successful was the season 2006/ 07 for the Italians. First, he won his first World Cup sprint in Rybinsk, a little later in the Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo 2007 he was on the side of Cristian Zorzi world champion in the team sprint after he was previously disqualified still in the individual sprint.
