Alexei Petukhov
Alexei Petukhov Jewgenjewitsch (Russian Алексей Евгеньевич Петухов; born June 28, 1983) is a Russian cross country skier who has specialized in Spintwettbewerbe.
Life and career
His first international competition was Petukhov at the Junior World Championship 2002 in Schonach. There he finished 26th in the sprint competition, finishing in 47th place on 10 km freestyle. A year later he won the silver medal in the 30 km freestyle ( mass start ) and the gold medal with the Russian relay at the Junior World Championship 2003 in Sweden Sollefteå. About the 10 km classic, he reached the twelfth. In the sprint, he failed to qualify. On 16 March 2003, he then had his first appearance in the World Cup. About the 15-kilometer freestyle, he finished in Lahti, Finland the 56th of 87 athletes. Even in Eastern Europe Cup, he was able to show good results and won in January 2008 in Kharkiv his first sprint competition in this race series. At the end of the season he finished in 12th place overall in the Eastern Europe Cup. In the season 2008/09 season he then achieved a breakthrough in the world's best. In Davos, he was in ninth place for the first time to celebrate a top ten result in the World Cup. In Dusseldorf, he finished with Nikolai Morilow third place in the team sprint competition. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1999 in Liberec, he reached the semi-finals, finishing in ninth place. At the end of the season he was sixth overall in the sprint race. His first World Cup victory celebrated Petukhov at the beginning of the 2009/10 season, when he won the sprint competition in Dusseldorf. Also in the team sprint, he was unbeatable in Dusseldorf together with Morilow.
