Revaz Lashkhi

Revaz Laschchi (Georgian რევაზ ლაშხი; born 26 May 1988 in Borjomi ) is a Georgian wrestler. It was 2011 European Champion in Greco-Roman featherweight.

Career

Revaz Laschchi from Borjomi began as a teenager with the rings. It focuses on the Greco-Roman style, and is or has been coached by Georgi Rasmadse, Akaki Chuchua and Begi Darchia. He started in the bantamweight and featherweight fights since 2007. With 1.72 meters, it is relatively large for this class of weight.

At the beginning of his international career, he finished wrestler in the 2004 European Junior Championship ( Cadets ) in the weight class up to 54 kg body weight and at the Junior World Championship 2005 ( Juniors) 3rd place. At the Junior World Championships ( Juniors) in 2006 in Guatemala City and 2007 in Beijing, he could not place it in the front of the field itself. In 2006 he came bantamweight only on the 10th Place and 2007 Featherweight even only to 19th place.

In 2006 he has also been used in the European Championship in Moscow. He came here bantamweight after a victory over Jan Hocko from the Czech Republic and one defeat against Rowschan Bairamov from Azerbaijan to 8th place. Also at the international championships in the years 2007 to 2009, he could only occupy resources courses, its 7th place at the 2009 World Championships in Herning / Denmark is nevertheless noteworthy because he won there against the three very strong athletes Hanzel Meoque Lugonez from Cuba, Sebastian Hidalgo from France and Omid Haji Noroozi from Iran. But he was defeated in the consolation round against Vitaly Rakhimov from Azerbaijan.

2010 occupied Rewas Laschchi at the European Championships in Baku featherweight the 7th place, which he lost after a victory over Artur Chatsaturow from Greece against Eusebiu Diaconu of Romania. At the World Championships in Moscow he lost after two wins in the third round against Ryutaro Matsumoto of Japan and then came in the consolation round to a victory over Lenur Temirow from Ukraine. But in the battle for the bronze medal he was defeated by South Korean Jung Ji -hyun and therefore finished 5th.

At the European Championship 2011 in Dortmund him then managed the big breakthrough, because he defeated there featherweight Sebastian Hidalgo, Edward Barsegjan from Poland, Eusebiu Diaconuu, Hassan Aliyev of Azerbaijan and in the final Ivo Angelov from Bulgaria and thus became the new European champion.

At the 2012 Olympic Games in London managed Rewas Laschchi victories over Sayed Abd El Monem Sayed Hamed, Egypt, Saur Kuramagomedow, Russia and Hassan Aliyev, Azerbaijan. He was thus in the final Omid Haji Noroozi from Iran against, but against which he was subject. However, the profit of the Olympic silver medal is a great achievement for him.
