Richard Groenendaal

Richard Marinus Anthonius Groenendaal ( born July 13, 1971 in Den Bosch ) is a Dutch racing cyclist.

Groenendaal is a cross- driver and runs since 1996 with the Dutch team Rabobank. He is in the squad of youth team Rabobank Continental.

Groenendaal began his career at the age of 14 years at the Wielervereniging Schijndel. He drove there from the age group of newcomers to the juniors. There he was as good as every year national cross champion in his age group. He was even Junior World Cross Country Champion in 1989. He experienced his greatest success in 2000 when he cross world champion in his home in Sint- Michielsgestel. The rainbow jersey gave him wings and he denied it, his most successful season. The eight-time Dutch elite cross- Master left in his career, among other many victories in Cross World Cup, the Super Prestige series and in the GvA Trofee one.
