Riedhausen is a municipality in the northwest of the district of Ravensburg in Baden- Württemberg.

Geography

Neighboring communities

Ried Stockhausen neighboring municipalities are starting clockwise from the north: Königseggwald, Guggenhausen, Unterwaldhausen and Wilhelm village in the district of Ravensburg and Ostrach in the district of Sigmaringen.

History

Riedhausen was first mentioned in documents in 1083. From 1179 to 1380 the Ministerialengeschlecht the Lords of Riedhausen is detected as local nobility. 1179 Berthold of Riedhausen is as a witness for the Welf Welf VI. and the Duke of Swabia, the Swabian Frederick V, mentioned in a document.

Religions

The municipality is the seat of the Catholic parish of St. Michael, which belongs to the deanery Saulgau.
