Baindt

Baindt is a municipality in Upper Swabia, district of Ravensburg in Baden- Württemberg ( Germany ).

The church, which belongs to Gemeindeverwaltungsverband Middle Schussental and covers 23.07 km ² in area, has about 4,900 inhabitants.

Geography

Geographical location

The community Baindt is part of the settlement area "Medium Schussental " which of Eschach (southern district of Ravensburg ) via the two cities Ravensburg and Weingarten stretches to Baienfurt and Baindt in the north. It is located a few kilometers west of the Forest Altdorfer at a small northeastern tributary of Schussen, which is a northern Lake Constance and the Rhine tributary.

Sanctuary

In the municipality Baindts two nature reserves are reported: the Annaberg, on the border with Baienfurt, and the gift-giving forest in Schussental, on the border with Fronreute. (As of 1 May 2010)

History

Baindt was first documented in 1240 in connection with the foundation of the local Cistercian monastery by Konrad von Stetten winter. The monastery was dissolved in 1802 and the area was 1806 Oberamt Württemberg Ravensburg, the forerunner to the homonymous district. In 1826 Baindt was a separate municipality, the current boundaries date from the year 1848.

Baindt is served by the federal highway 30 directly to the national road.

  • Parish Church of St. John the Baptist (built 1240-1241 ), former abbey and monastery church of the Cistercian nuns of Baindt patronal feast of the Assumption (August 15 ). 1560 Gothic vaulting. 1675, 1724-1729, 1742 and 1764 in Baroque style of the abbey church and monastery ( 1729 construction of the guesthouse, 1764-1766 high altar - Baroque Rococo ). In 1817 the former abbey church of the Cistercian nuns to the parish church of Baindt patron saint St. John the Baptist - St. John the Baptist ( 24 June).

Regular events

  • In Baindt the Swabian- Alemannic carnival is indigenous, which is organized by the Narrenzunft Raspler. The Narrenruf the Raspler states: " Raspler - ratchet ratchet ". Every two years there is a Narrensprung.
  • Another highlight is the annual wine festival, which takes place in late July or early August. Organised by the Schalmeienkapelle hard serves as a meeting place for the community.
