Roberto Oscar Ferreiro ( born April 25, 1935 in Buenos Aires ) is a former Argentine football player and later coach, who participated as a player with the national team of his native country at the World Cup 1966.

Career

Club career

Roberto Ferreiro played most of his career at CA Independiente Avellaneda suburb from the bonarenser. Between 1958 and 1967 he made for Independiente 221 games in La Liga, the top division in Argentine football, but a scoring did not succeed there. During his time at Independiente Roberto Ferreiro won the Argentine championship three times. In the first title win in 1960, the team took to Ferreiro, Raúl Bernao and David Acevedo in the Primera División first place with two points ahead of CA River Plate. The second winning the Argentine championship succeeded Roberto Ferreiro with Independiente three years later in 1963, when after all the game day of the first rank in the table with two points could be reached before River Plate again. At the international level was successfully Roberto Ferreiro with CA Independiente. The Copa Campeones de América in 1964 was designed by the players of coach Manuel Giudice victorious. Roberto Ferreiro played in all three games of the Finals. With the two victories in the Copa Libertadores Ferreiro and Independiente were also entitled to participate in the football World Cup. In both appearances, however, they lost against the winner in the European Champions Cup, named respectively Inter Milan.

After the end of his time as a player was Roberto Ferreiro football coach. He coached, among others, his old club CA Independiente, with whom he won the Copa Libertadores in 1974 and the same year as the World Cup.

National

In the Argentine national football team Roberto Ferreiro total of twenty times was used. From coach Juan Carlos Lorenzo, he was called to the squad for the World Cup 1966.
