Rok Urbanc

Rok Urbanc (born 28 February 1985 in Jesenice ) is a Slovenian ski jumper.

Career

Urbanc was fourth in the Junior World Championship in Schonach 2002. 2007 he won the World Cup in Zakopane. After the heavy fall of the Czech Jan Mazoch the jury broke off the jump, so that he retained his leading place in the first round. Until Zakopane he had in the World Cup still can not achieve a great success, but won in 2006/ 07, the two Continental Cup competition in Planica. In the Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo 2007 he reached the tenth place with the team in the team competition. In both the individual jumping him get any top rankings. So he was on the normal hill 47th and jumped from the large hill at the 33rd place. After the World Cup, he started again in the Continental Cup and reached in Vikersund went straight to number nine. In all summer competitions for the new season, he landed in the points. In the Summer Grand Prix 2007 he succeeded only at the two competitions in Hakuba Japan. At the start of the winter season Urbanc took some time before he gained placements in the top 10 in the Continental again. Only in Sapporo in January 2008, he succeeded in eighth place again the leap into the top ten. After a rather mediocre summer of 2008, and a rather slow start to the 2008/09 season in the Continental Cup, he was nominated in January 2009 for qualifying for the World Cup in Bischofshofen in the Four Hills Tournament. However, he missed here with number 49 clearly qualifying for the competition. Also the ski flying world cup at Kulm Urbanc was nominated, and reached number 29 just to qualify for the competition. However, in both competitions he missed with positions 36 and 39 respectively to the second round. At the World Cup in Zakopane Urbanc surprised with the third place in qualifying, but resigned after the first passage than 33 and thus again without World Cup points. Just one day later, however, he succeeded in winning a point with the 22nd place in the World Cup for the first time. Despite this increase in performance Urbanc stayed under the Continental Cup squad. He was appointed irregularly in the A-team to World Cup events. When Team World Cup in Willingen, he missed the team's only just short of the podium and finished fourth. In the season 2010/11 he took part in any jumping in the World Cup.
