Roland Jacobi

Roland Jacobi ( born March 9, 1893 in Banská Bystrica (then Austria - Hungary), † May 22, 1951 ) was a Hungarian table tennis player.

Jacobi was the first world champion in the history of table tennis. The title he won in 1926 in London.

With the Hungarian team, he was also in 1926, 1928 and 1929 World Champion. He could not participate in the final in 1926, because his father died suddenly, and he therefore traveled back to Budapest.

His living Jacobi earned as a lawyer.

  • World Championships 1926 in London: 1st place individual, 1st place with double Dániel Pécsi, 2nd place Mixed with G. Gleeson (England ), 1st place with the men's team
  • 1928 in Stockholm: 3rd place doubles with Zoltan Mechlovits, 1st place with the men's team
  • 1929 in Budapest: 1st place with the men's team
  • Hungarian Championships 1909 - 1st place individual, 1st place with double Frigyes Becske
  • 1910 - 1st place individual, 1st place with double Zoltán Mechlovits
  • 1911 - 1st place with double Zoltán Mechlovits
  • 1925 - 1st place Mixed with Wollemanné
