Roman Kukumberg

Roman Kukumberg ( born April 8, 1980 in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia) is a Slovak ice hockey player standing since 2011 when HC Slovan Bratislava in the Slovak Extraliga under contract.

Career

Roman Kukumberg began his career as a hockey player with the SHK Bratislava Danubia for the junior team he was active from 1996 to 1999. In addition, he participated in the 1997/98 and 1998/99 season in addition to the gaming operations of the professional team Danubias part in the first league. After he was on the ice in the 1999/2000 season at the MHC Nitra also in both the junior and the senior team, he moved to HC Dukla Trenčín for which he played the next four seasons in the Slovak Extraliga, and he with the in the season 2003/ 04 Slovakian champion was first. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2004 in the fourth round as a total 113 players from the Toronto Maple Leafs. First, however, he played a game while in the Russian Super League for Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, before 2005/ 06 in 54 games overall eight points scorer for the farm team of the Maple Leafs, the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League scored in the season.

After a year in North America Kukumberg returned to his native Slovakia, where he received a contract with HC Slovan Bratislava, with whom he was for the second time in his career Slovakian champions in the 2007/ 08 season. Despite the success of the Centre Bratislava left to play for his former club Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk in the Russian Super League.

After only a year he returned to Slovan Bratislava, with which he participated in the 2008 /09 season at the newly founded Champions Hockey League, where he was employed in all four group matches of his team and scored two goals. With Slovan and also achieved the playoff semi-finals of the Extraliga and was sixth- best scorer in the league. In May 2009 Kukumberg was taken from HK Lada Togliatti in the Kontinental Hockey League contract. This transferred him to the end of January 2010 League rivals Ak Bars Kazan, with whom he won the Russian championship title at the end of the season.

In June 2010 he was obliged by HC Traktor Chelyabinsk, for which he completed 17 KHL games before he left the club in mid-October of the same year and was engaged by Amur Khabarovsk. For the 2011/12 season he returned once more to HC Slovan Bratislava back in the Extraliga.

Internationally

For Slovakia Kukumberg participated exclusively at the U20 World Junior Championship in 2000 at junior level. In the senior level, he stood in part at the World Championships in 2004, 2007 and 2010 in the squad of his country.
