2011–12 Slovak Extraliga season

The season 2011/12 was the 19th regular hosting of the highest Slovak Hockey League, the Tipsport Extraliga. Master was the HC Slovan Bratislava, the HC Kosice defeated 4-3 wins in the best- of-seven series in the playoff finals. As the master of the first league, the HC 46 Bardejov, as Framteam of HC Košice was not allowed to ascend, no Relegation has been played and the HK Nitra remained in the Extraliga. As in the previous season eleven team participated in the game mode, the Slovak U-20 national team again played as HK Orange 20 except standings.

Mode

In the main round each of the ten regular teams completed a total of 55 games. The top eight teams qualified for the playoffs, where the Master was played. In addition to the regular participants also joined the Slovak U20 national team as a guest under the name HK Orange 20 from each league affiliate in a game where the roles of HK Orange 20 remained except standings. For one victory after regulation time, each team received three points for a win after overtime or shootout two points for a loss after overtime or shootout, there was a point and at a defeat after regular time zero points.
