Ronde van Drenthe

The Ronde van Drenthe (German round of Drenthe) is a Dutch bicycle race.

The one-day race was held for the first time in 1960 and has since been, discharged a few exceptions, every year in early April. It performs the Dutch province of Drenthe. A part of the race lead over cobblestones, so it also low. Hel van het Noorden (Eng. Hell of the North ) is called. This refers to the Queen of the Classics Paris -Roubaix (French: L' Enfer du Nord ( hell of the North) ), which takes place a week later. The Ronde could only be won four times by foreigners, including Germans Markus Eichler and Marcel Sieberg. Since 2005, one of the race for the UCI Europe Tour and is classified in the UCI category 1.1.

Ronde van Drenthe 2011, was founded in 2010, merged with the one-day race Dwars door Drenthe to a stage race. Both races won Kenny van Hummel and so also won the overall standings. The first edition of Dwars door Drenthe won 2010 Italian Enrico Rossi.

The women's race belongs since 2007 to the wheel 's World Cup of women.
