Roshchinsky, Samara Oblast
Roschtschinski (Russian Рощинский ) is an urban-type settlement in the Samara Oblast (Russia) with 11,920 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).
Geography
The settlement is situated about 30 km southwest of Oblastverwaltungszentrums Samara and the left bank of the Volga.
Roschtschinski belongs to Rajons Wolschski, the administrative center of Samara is also. It is the seat and only town in the township gleichnameigen ( gorodskoje posselenije ).
History
The town was founded in 1932 under the name Tschernoretschje. 1933 was there a garrison of the Red Army. In the 1960s and 1970s, more units were added. When, after the reunification of Germany, the troops of the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany ( GSFG ) were withdrawn from there, the Federal Republic of new settlements for military personnel, as well as in Tschernoretschje developed under financial participation pedal at several locations in Russia. In 1993, the place was in this context Roschtschinski renamed (from Russian Roscha for Hain) and received the status of an urban-type settlement.
