Rosopsida

The Rosopsida or three furrows pollen dicots form a taxon of plants from the Department of flowering plants ( Magnoliophyta). Your embryo, like all dicotyledonous flowering plants two cotyledons, but it is clear from pollen with three characteristic furrows that become visible in an electron micrograph. We call this particular type of pollen grain tricolpate, so dreifurchig.

In the scheme of biology, this group has been re-established only a few years ago, when it was discovered the new type of pollen grain with modern technology. In some systems, it is placed as the third class in addition to the monocots and dicots remaining. She is often referred to as eudicots or True dicots. Pollen of the group can already be in formations older than 126 million years ( Lower Cretaceous ) prove. The oldest fossil find the Hahnenfußartigen, Leefructus mirus, is about 122.6 to 125.8 million years old.

Properties

In the vegetative area the Rosopsida are hard to distinguish from the rest of dicotyledons. However, few things can be generalized. The leaves are often assembled and the widespread stipules paired and non- grow. Transversal bracteoles are located on the axillary shoots. The bloom is usually four to fünfzählig, arranged in whorls and (often multiple) divided into calyx and corolla. Stamens are usually arranged in one or two circles, but there are frequently propagated on ( polyandry ). Carpels are often fused ( coenokarp ).
