The N16 was a French national road, which was established in 1824 between Sarcelles and Dunkerque. It goes back to impériale dei Route 17. This had a tour of Aire -sur -la -Lys before 1815. The length of the N16 was 260 kilometers. In 1973, she was reduced to the section between Sarcelles and Clermont. The N16A was from 1933 to 1973 a side branch of the N16, which branched off from this in Bergues and the Belgian border at Oost -Cappel led, where they went to the N308 ( former N9 to Brussels ). It originated from the ancient route of the N40. Its length was 15 kilometers.
