Rudolph Gerken

Rudolph Aloysius Gerken ( born March 7, 1887 in Dyersville, Iowa, USA, † March 2, 1943 in Santa Fe, New Mexico) was Archbishop of Santa Fe.

Life

Rudolph Aloysius Gerken received on 10 June 1917 the Bishop of Dallas, Joseph Patrick Lynch, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On August 25, 1926, he was named by Pope Pius XI. Bishop of Amarillo. The Bishop of Dallas, Joseph Patrick Lynch, gave him on 26 April 1927 in the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Houston episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Galveston, Christopher Edward Byrne, and the Bishop of Oklahoma, Francis Clement Kelley. The inauguration took place on 28 April of the same year.

On June 2, 1933, Pius XI appointed him. Archbishop of Santa Fe.
