Sadovo

Sadovo (also: Sadovo; Bulgarian: Садово ) is a town with 2,551 inhabitants ( 2006) and administrative center of a municipality of the same name in the Oblast Plovdiv in central Bulgaria. The city is located 15 km east of Plovdiv and 15 km northeast of Asenovgrad.

The Mariza runs north, 1 km away.

The A1 motorway is 10 km north.

In Sadovo was registered in 1916 with 45.2 ° C, the highest ever temperature in Bulgaria.

The majority of the population is employed in agriculture. This is efficient and very productive because of the fertile soils and because of the high level of mechanization. Mainly apples, tomatoes, pepper, wheat, barley and rice are grown.
