Salina Kosgei

Salina Kosgei Jebet (born 16 November 1976) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specializes in the marathon.

In 2002 she won the 10,000 - meter race of the Commonwealth Games in Manchester. In 2004, she surprised as the winner of the Paris Marathon in 2:24:29. The following year, she won the Prague Marathon and finished fourth at the New York City Marathon.

In 2006 she won first the Lisbon Half Marathon, then finished second at the Berlin Marathon with a personal best time of 2:23:22 and finally won the Singapore Marathon with a course record of 2:31:55.

In 2007, she finished fourth in the London Marathon and second in the Tokyo International Women's Marathon. In 2008 she was again fourth in London and finished the marathon in the Olympic Games in Beijing in tenth place.

In 2009 she won the venerable Boston Marathon in 2:32:16. She reached the goal with only one second ahead of defending champion Dire Tune.
