San Miguel (Bulacan)

San Miguel is a Philippine municipality in the province of Bulacan, in the Administrative Region III, Central Luzon. According to the census of 2010 had 142 854 inhabitants of San Miguel, who lived in 49 barangays. It is classified as a church of the first income class in the Philippines and as a partially urbanized.

San Miguel's neighboring communities are Candaba in the west, in the north of Gapan, San Ildefonso and Doña Remedios Trinidad in the south in the east. The topography of the city is characterized by lowlands. The western part of the village lies in a valley in which to spread the Candaba River Marsh. A world-renowned among ornithologists area. Parts of the Biak -na- Bato National Park are within the municipality.

San Miguel has a great historical significance for the Philippines, as the first provisional Republic of the Philippines was proclaimed in July 1897 in the caves of Biak -na- Bato, the Republic of Biak -na- Bato, and the first Constitution of the Philippines on 1 November. was adopted there. The Republic, however, was disbanded on December 15, 1897 with the signing of the Treaty of Biak -na- Bato between the Philippine and the Spanish party.
