San Sebastián Gipuzkoa Basket Club, usually just Gipuzkoa Basket, is a Spanish basketball club from Donostia- San Sebastián. The first team plays in the ACB league. The home games will be held in the 11,000 -seat San Sebastian Arena 2016.

History

Gipuzkoa Basket was established in May 2001 to life and contested the 2001/02 season in the LEB -2, the third division where the team the originating also from San Sebastián club CB Askatuak replaced. After the season, the club withdrew. Only two years later, in the 2004/05 season, Gipuzkoa Basket presented again a team in the third division and failed only in the play- offs on promotion to the LEB. The club then decided to purchase the license of CB Ciudad de Algeciras to 2005/ 06 but to be allowed to compete in the second division. Here, the team developed the discovery of the season, reached the play-off and sat in this CB against Inca, Baloncesto León and CB Murcia through to win the title of the second division and thus ascend to the ACB league.

In the first year in the top division, the Basques could decide only eight games for himself and rose again in the LEB from. In the 2007 /08 season Pablo Laso took over as coach and led the team straight away back in the ACB league. The best result so far succeeded in Gipuzkoa Basket in the season 2011/12, when the team finished the regular season in fifth place and the play-off for the championship in the quarter-finals with 1:2 failed to Valencia Basket Club. Also in the last eight defeated the club this year in the Copa del Rey. In addition, forward Andrew Panko was elected in that season for MVP of the league and Sergi Vidal Guard into the All- Tournament team.
