Sander Boschker ( born October 20, 1970 in Lichtenvoorde ) is a Dutch football goalkeeper, who is under contract with FC Twente in Enschede since the 2004/ 05 season.

Career

Association

Boschker played as a child at SV Longa 30 from his birthplace, but moved as a teenager to FC Twente Enschede after. His debut in the Eredivisie he was with just 19 years on 26 November 1989 a home game against HFC Haarlem, where he had to dig in the first half, twice behind him - but could get it in his first game only his own teammates beat: both Haarlem goals in a 2-2 were own goals, one of them by his later coach Fred Rutten. On his second mission, he had to wait almost two years, but then graduated in his third professional season in the first team equal to 23 games. Since the season 1993/94 he was a regular goalkeeper Enschede - except for the one season, which he joined in 2003 for the AFC Ajax Amsterdam, where he did not, however, came into use in the Eredivisie.

When FC Twente he is since November 12, 2006 Most games - in a 7-1 win against Groningen he improved the old record of Epi Drost with 423 inserts. By the end of the 2008/09 season he had 509 games in the Eredivisie in its statistics, to come up to that 57 cups and 27 international games for Twente.

The highlight of his career was the 2001 Cup final against PSV Eindhoven for Boschker in his own words. In the deciding penalty shoot-out as he could, after PSV already led 3-2, three times - against John de Jong, his counterpart Ronald Waterreus Joonas Kolkka and - parry, which Twente Cup winner was.

2009/10 could Boschker win with the Red and Whites for the first time in club history the national championship. With just 23 goals conceded in the course of the season, the goalkeeper conceded the second fewest of all Erstligateams. For the following season was Boschker by Nikolai Mikhailov displaced as the number one between the posts. So he came at the final group game against Tottenham Hotspur on December 7, 2010 to his Champions League debut. When 3:3 against English club moved Boschker in the attention when he hit on a back pass from teammate Peter Wisgerhof past and so got his team 0-1 behind.

On March 18, 2012 stood Boschker the 550th time in a match of the Eredivisie for FC Twente between the posts. He is also the player with the most appearances for the same club in the first Dutch league.

National

Boschker was several times on the cadres of the Dutch national team. In March 2010 he replaced before the match against the USA, Utrecht goalkeeper Michel Vorm as a third. His international debut he celebrated on 1 June 2010 in the 4-1 victory against Ghana, where he was substituted at half time for Michel Vorm. At 39 years and 224 days he was the hitherto oldest National team debutant of the Netherlands. He was appointed surprising as the third goalkeeper in the Netherlands squad for the FIFA World Cup 2010, came there but not used.
