Sarpsborg 08 FF

Sarpsborg 08 FF is a football club from Sarpsborg in Norway and plays in the 2013 season in the Tippeligaen, the highest Norwegian league. The Association is a federation of several clubs to promote elite football in Sarpsborg.

History

The emergence of the football club Sarpsborg 08 FF goes back to the year 1999, when 16 clubs in Sarpsborg cooperation with the working title " Klubben 2000 " started to build long-term a high-class football team in Sarpsborg.

2000 has been the traditional club Sarpsborg FK as höchstklassigster club in Sarpsborg in Norway's third division ( 2 Divisjon ) and changed the name in Sarpsborg Fotball. However, at the end of the season the club was relegated and withdrew from the collaboration. From 2001 to the fourth division Navestad IF was promoted to his first team as FF Sarpsborg. A year later the name was changed in Borg Fotball and the club rose to third in the league. Thus Sarpsborg 08 is the first team from Sarpsborg in the top Norwegian football league since 1974.
