SCAT (automobile)

SCAT was an Italian manufacturer of cars.

Company History

The company Società Automobili Torino Ceirano was founded in 1906 in Turin by Giovanni Ceirano and his son Giovanni " Ernesto" Ceirano for the production of automobiles. 1918 left the two gentlemen the company to Ceirano Fabbrica Automobili Giovanni SA to start. 1925, the two companies were combined. In 1930 the production was stopped.

Rolling stock

It sports cars were produced that also participated successfully in car races such as Targa Florio. Appeared in 1906, the first four-cylinder models 12 HP, also known as 12/16 HP, with 2724 cc, 16 HP 3054 cm ³ displacement and 18 hp with 3770 cc capacity. 1908 followed a model with 4487 cc capacity. In 1912 there was the 15/20 HP with 2951 cc capacity, and in 1914 the 25/35 HP with 4712 cc capacity. 1919 appeared the 12/15 HP with 1551 cc capacity. Shortly afterwards appeared a six-cylinder model. From 1925 the model N 150 of Ceirano was S. A. produced further with a four-cylinder engine with 1500 cc, from which there was also the sports version 150 S.

A car of this brand is on display at the Museo Carlo dell'Automobile Biscaretti di Ruffia in Turin.
